"A-BA-BA-HA-LA-MA-HA" is a leading Ukrainian publishing house of children's literature and one of the most famous children's publishing houses in Eastern Europe. It is the first private children's publishing house in independent Ukraine.
The first "ababahalamaha" book, "Ukrainian Alphabet" (Ukrainska Abetka), was published in July 1992 (the first page of the first book began with "Angel"). Translated from children's speech, "A-BA-BA-HA-LA-MA-HA" actually means "alphabet" (that was how the protagonist of Ivan Franko's short story "Hryts's School Education" referred to it).
